Introducing KC Festive Effects

KC Festive Effects is a WordPress plugin that adds decorative visual effects to a site without modifying the active theme. It offers five themes — snow, confetti, Christmas, Diwali, and Holi — each with falling particles, scattered stickers, and click-triggered bursts at the cursor position.

The plugin includes adjustable particle density, a choice between front-page or site-wide display, and a shortcode for placing effects on specific pages. Visitors with reduced-motion preferences enabled will see only static stickers, with all animations disabled automatically.

KC Festive Effects overlays the active theme with lightweight, purely decorative frontend effects — no theme edits required.

Features

  • Five themes: falling snow, confetti, a dedicated Christmas theme (snow + stickers), Diwali (auto-launching fireworks + twinkling string-light stickers), and Holi (falling paint colors + splash stickers).
  • Click tracker: clicking anywhere on the page fires a themed burst right at the pointer — a firework that rises from the bottom of the screen and explodes where you clicked (Diwali), a paint splash with flying droplets (Holi), or a twinkling glitter sparkle (Christmas, Snow, Confetti). It reads the click from the page underneath a pointer-events: none canvas, so it never blocks an actual link or button.
  • Decorative stickers scattered across the whole page (not just one corner) — 🎄🎁⛄ Christmas, ❄️⛄ Snow, 🎉🎊 Confetti, 🪔🎇💡 Diwali, 🎨🌈💦 Holi — each gently swaying, or twinkling like fairy lights for Diwali.
  • Adjustable particle density and sticker count so every effect can be as subtle or as busy as you want.
  • Display scope: front page only (the default) or the entire site.
  • Shortcode override: [kcd_kc_festive_effects] forces the configured effect onto whatever page it’s placed on, regardless of the scope setting.
  • Accessible by default: visitors with “reduce motion” enabled in their OS/browser see only the static stickers — all animation, including fireworks and click effects, is skipped entirely.
  • Settings panel with usage guide under the KC-Dev admin menu.

This post has the shortcode on it, so the configured theme is active here right now — try clicking anywhere on the page:
